I'm Dr. Carrissa Williams
I am a Licensed Psychologist, entrepreneur, and community leader dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, inclusive, and culturally responsive mental health care. I hold a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas and am the Founder and CEO of Small Victories Wellness Services, a thriving, group mental health practice with 35+ clinicians, built on a commitment to accessible, inclusive, and high-quality care and prioritizes staff well-being and sustainability over burnout-driven models of care.
I’ve built a career that allows me to work from anywhere so I love to travel and have the privilege of doing it often. When I travel, I prioritize scenic views, spas, and cultural and culinary experiences. And I’m not trying to come home needing a vacation from a vacation so balance is a must.
In 2023, I tragically lost my husband, Q, in a car accident. Being a widow at 37 was unfathomable. My grief journey has been long, unimaginably heavy, and at times, felt impossible to bear. Managing our household entirely on my own has been overwhelming even without children, and I never thought I’d have to navigate single life again. But here I am, doing my best to rebuild a life with intention and purpose. I’ve now co-founded and serve as President of The Quentin "Q" Williams Foundation. A non-profit that will advocate for quality education, fair housing, community justice, and help to build healthy and thriving neighborhoods. We are just getting started but honoring and carrying forward Q’s legacy in meaningful, community-centered ways provides me with renewed purpose.

I’m a first-generation college graduate, and that identity continues to shape how I move through the world and build my ventures. I’m proud to be self-determined and resourceful. I know how it feels to be a trailblazer and to be in rooms and spaces I was never meant to be in. While New England is now home, I was born and raised in the Kansas City area, and my Midwest roots still ground how I show up in business, in relationships, and in the community.
I’m deeply committed to doing my part to challenge and dismantle racism, sexism, transphobia, and anti-fat bias—personally, professionally, and systemically.
Follow along as I work hard but play harder, take you with me around the world, and share what it looks like to build a life rooted in courage, values alignment, flexibility, and survival––born out of both necessity and manifestation.
